ABOUT ELLEN JACOBSON
I grew up in Stamford, Connecticut, a suburb of New York City. I started working in clay when I was young and have continued making pottery my entire life. Working with my hands and using my imagination and creativity has always brought me great joy. In college I studied Religion, but my passion was art. I returned to school to follow my heart and received a BFA from the Kansas City Art institute and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. I have taught in colleges, community art centers, run many pottery programs and created summer art camps for children. Working with students and watching them grow has become an important focus in my life.
I raised my family in Silver Spring, Maryland, but have been coming to Rock Hall for the past 10 years. This year my husband and I decided to make Rock Hall our permanent home. Terracotta 'N Textiles represents a fresh start in a new community. Come join me in the studio!

ABOUT CLASSES & THE STUDIO
Most of my work over the years has been making functional pottery. It is my first love. However, in the past few years I have been designing patterns and hand printing on fabric. My claywork also involves printing on clay. This fall I will start out teaching hand printed fabric in my classes. Hope you will come and join in! I guarantee you will have a great time!
Feel free to call, ask questions and visit the studio!
